Karekare Surf Lifesaving Club

PROJECT FACTS

Karekare Surf Lifesaving Club Inc.

Karekare, Auckland

March 2020 - present

PROJECT CASE STUDY

The Karekare Surf Life Saving Club sits back from the waves of the beach, nestled between the Karekare Stream and the edge of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park.

A special committee formed by the club, 106 Architects, and Magee Planning -made sure to address any potential impacts that might be had on the environment and landscape. Permits and consents were sought using as mix of render illustrations, technical drawings, and specialist assessments.

Now construction is underway, we’re working with MPM Projects to carry out the works. As we speak, framing is going up. A couple of cracker days has seen steelwork erected. With the bones in place, the cartilage and flesh are about to go on! The awesome thing about building, construction progresses, and a sense of spaces and volumes also take life. As floor platforms are built, we get to see the elevation of our real spaces – and get a sense of the walls and lines that will take us to the views beyond.
