Catholic Diocese of Auckland
Takapuna, Auckland
November 2019 - present
The building is a three-storey structure with approximately 12 learning spaces in total, each floor being around 650m2
What makes this build interesting is that the primary structure is all in-situ concrete, with the ground floor also suspended off the ground and sitting on 30m long steel driven piles.
Before commencing construction we need to build a 200m haul road across a field to access the site. To make things more interesting the field and the edge of our site were formerly a landfill and we have the hazard of methane gas leaching from the ground at our build location.
Early November saw the commencement of the haul road and site works with the aim to start piling straight after Christmas.
This is a 15 month duration project taking us through to April 2021.
